Canada’s Great Divide Trail stretches 1200km from the US border near Waterton to Kakwa National Park, several hours drive north of Jasper.
Of the total distance, Kristy and I walked 800km: Waterton to Field at 520km, then the Northern Terminus to Blueberry Lake, then Field to Saskatchewan Crossing.
The major issue was we got stopped by fires once we reached field. A fire burned the trail just north of Field and the next day Jasper National Park was on fire, closing all sections of the trail North of Field.
We persisted in getting back on the trail, and walked all sections that reopened. So we have 300km left to finish, one day…
